We launched Sandpoint Curry as Sandpoint Curry in a Hurry in February of 2016 operating from the Ponderay Events Center. Every week, we put our menu on facebook and people commented with their orders and then picked them up on Monday evenings. Soon after we moved to the Pine Street Alley where we cooked in the kitchen of Two Lakes Catering. In the summer of 2016, we became more official by launching our website and taking walk-in customers.
In August 2017, we were excited to serve at the Festival at Sandpoint but shortly afterwards, the kitchen we rented was sold. Having lost our place to cook curry, we put our efforts into a transforming a discarded Heineken Trailer into the 7Bistro, a certified kitchen on wheels. Our vision is to run a rotating restaurant, sharing the space with others to offer unique foods to Bonner County without the overhead or demands of running a full restaurant. When we finished the kitchen at the invitation of The Panhandle Animal shelter we joined a small community of food vendors and placed our 7Bistro in the Panhandle Eats food Court alongside Tacos Tacos and The Twisted Kilt Black Iron Grill.
The 7Bistro is now the home of Sandpoint Curry and the Ponderay Aloha Grill. We are looking for one more business to join us…maybe something Mediterranean, African or East Asian, if it’s unique and delicious, drop us a note at info@SandpointCurry.com
The 7Bistro can be found next to the Panhandle Animal Shelter in the Ponderay Eats Food Court 870 Kootenai Cut-Off Road Ponderay.
